Step 1. Insert
the Auction Manager Setup CD into the CD-Rom drive (The CD will autostart).
Note: If the Auction Manager Setup does not
auto start, then go to
Start-->Run, type D:\Setup and hit enter.
If D: is not your CD-Rom drive
letter then replace that with the corresponding
CD-Rom drive letter on your
machine.
Step 2. In
most cases, the setup will need to update your computer with the latest MDAC
files.
These are Microsoft’s updates that your
computer needs. Your machine will need
to
reboot after installing these. Click OK to update the computer.
Note: When the computer returns to Windows, it will
automatically start the
Auction Manager Setup
program. If not, refer to Step 1 to
start the Setup again.
Step 3. Read
through the warnings and precautions on the first screen. Click Next.
Step 4. Enter
your name and business name. Click Next.
Step 5. Select
the installation folder. This is the
folder where the application will
be installed on your
computer. Click Next.
Note: Use the default location if you are unsure
about this step.
Step 6. Select
the component that you want to install.
Server Application:
Choose this option for a 1
computer setup or to install the database on your server.
This option will install the
Auction Manager and the database.
Client Application:
Choose this option to install
just the Auction Manager. This will be
used if you have
more
than one computer that will be running the Auction Manager.
Note: The database must be installed on one
computer or the application will not
work.
The database may take up to 15
minutes to install. This time will vary
depending on
the
speed of your computer. Please be
patient while the database installs.
Step 7. The
Auction Manager is fully installed.
Click Finish to complete your installation.
Note: Some computers require a
reboot after installation.
This
ensures all files are updated correctly and placed in the proper place on the computer.
Important:
Win9x users…you will need to select the option to auto-start the database when Windows starts. Click StartàProgramsàMSDEàService
Manager
Check
the box that says “Auto-start service when OS starts”
Step 8. If you installed
the client version, you will type the name of the computer in which the database server has been
installed on.
Step 9. After you
have successfully connected to the Server, then you will be prompted for your auction business’s address information.
Step 10. The last step
is to create a user. This is what you
will use to log into the program.
